TSA ConfirmID: Flying Without an ID

TSA ConfirmID gives travelers a new option starting February 1, 2026, if they arrive at a checkpoint without an acceptable form of identification. Travelers may still proceed through security using this program. By paying a $45 fee, TSA will attempt to verify your identity so you can continue through the screening process.
How TSA ConfirmID Works
If you do not have an acceptable ID, you may also choose to pay the ConfirmID fee online before arriving at the airport.
Expired IDs
TSA currently accepts certain forms of identification up to two years after the expiration date.
Children
TSA does not require children under 18 to provide identification when traveling within the United States. However, unaccompanied minors eligible for TSA PreCheck must show acceptable ID.
Name Variations
Minor differences, such as the presence or absence of a suffix (Jr., Sr., III) on a boarding pass or ID, are generally acceptable.
