E-Bike Safety Laws in Florida

Florida may pass new e-bike safety laws in 2026 that could change how electric bicycles are used across the state. One proposal would require e-bike riders to reduce their speed to under 10 miles per hour when pedestrians are nearby.
What the Proposed E-Bike Safety Laws Would Change
The bill would also strengthen crash reporting requirements and establish a statewide safety task force to study and recommend additional safety measures. These changes are not law yet, but they are moving forward during the 2026 legislative session.
