Witnesses

If you have not already done so, please immediately furnish this office with the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of any and all witnesses concerning your accident.

Save Evidence

Please remember to save all items that may become evidence in your case. For example, do not destroy photographs, casts, medical braces, etc. If you do have any photographs concerning your accident, please send them to our office. If you do not have photographs of the damage to your vehicle you should take some immediately, before your car is repaired or totaled out.

Car Repair

If you were involved in an automobile accident and your automobile was damaged, generally the other driver’s insurance company will reimburse you for that property damage. Frequently, this occurs before resolution of your personal injury case. You will generally be paid the reasonable cost of repair or if the car is not repairable the fair market value of your car on the date of the accident. You are not entitled to be reimbursed for what you owe on the car or what you paid for it.

You will be handling and speaking with the other driver’s insurance company in regards to resolving the property damage aspect of your case. It is important that you limit your discussions with the other insurance company to only the property damage. Do not speak to them about your injuries or anything else concerning this accident. If there is significant damage to the automobile, you should photograph that property damage.

If you are arrested or receive a citation concerning this automobile accident, and we have not already been made aware of this, please call our office immediately. Be sure not to pay the ticket until after you have spoken with us.
