Who We Are            Areas of Practice          Success Stories

Michael P. Maddux, P.A. is a law firm dedicated to providing high quality, aggressive legal representation to those in the Tampa Bay area who have been charged with a crime or DUI, or who have suffered injury as the result of the wrongful acts of another, such as for injuries and damages resulting from property owners, automobile drivers, or even law enforcement officers.  Among the many kinds of cases we handle are:

False Arrest / Excessive Force

Motor Vehicle Personal Injury Protection Benefits

Personal Injury

Criminal Defense

DUI

An initial discussion with us about your case is free of charge or obligation.  Our fees are very competitive given our skill, experience, expertise, and efficiency of effort in providing legal services and compared with the fees charged in the Tampa Bay Area by other attorneys with similar credentials.

In contingency matters, we only charge a fee if we are successful in recovering an award for you. You generally will not pay a retainer fee up front, because we appreciate that most people cannot afford to pay the exorbitant costs to assert your legal rights.  In these contingency cases, we try to cover the costs of your case until we can make a recovery for you.  Our own fees are based on a percentage of any recovery we make for you. This is called a contingent fee agreement.  In the State of Florida, if you enter into a contingent fee agreement, you are guaranteed certain rights.  To see a list of these rights, go to our RESOURCES page.

In some cases such as false arrest or excessive force cases involving law enforcement, we must get many records from such entities as a police department, internal affairs department, or hospital.  In such cases, we may require a nominal costs deposit and an investigative fee to allow us to get necessary materials and to thoroughly evaluate your case for a determination of whether to make claims in good faith on your behalf.

To discuss your injuries and your case with us, call us toll free at (888) 703-2253 or locally at (813) 253-3363 today for a free consultation.

Best Regards,

Michael P. Maddux, P.A.
